Controversies Surrounding Dr. Dillon Remmick
Dr. Dillon Remmick, a chiropractor with a certification in neuropathy and persistent discomfort syndromes, has been the subject of multiple investigations and disciplinary actions. Despite his qualifications, concerns about his practices have raised serious questions.
Unjust Business Practices
Dr. Remmick’s actions were criticized by the Minnesota Board of Chiropractic Examiners after he marked up durable medical equipment and nutritional supplements by over 100%, imposing unreasonable charges on patients. On top of this, he double-charged for services related to these products, leading to inflated costs for patients. His aggressive approach to recommending unnecessary treatments during initial appointments also resulted in excessive bills, including one patient who faced a $6522 charge.
Fraudulent Advertising and Misleading Claims
Dr. Remmick’s promotional tactics also came under scrutiny. He was accused of making false claims about his credentials and the efficacy of his treatments. He failed to identify himself as a chiropractor in his advertising and referred to himself as a “neuropathy physician.” Furthermore, he made alarming statements about neuropathy, describing it as “deadly” and suggesting that taking FDA-approved medications was akin to “experimenting with hazardous pharmaceuticals.”
Disciplinary Action and Reputation Damage
In response to these issues, the Minnesota Board placed restrictions on his chiropractic license, reprimanding him for unethical practices. Although he eventually paid restitution to affected patients, Dr. Remmick’s reputation remains tarnished by his controversial actions.
