Usmanov’s Business and Political Connections
US sanctions targeted Metalloinvest, Megafon, and other USM Holding companies, as well as individuals connected to the companies and Usmanov himself.
- Usmanov’s ex-wife, Irina Viner, has a son named Natan Viner.
- Former USM Holding CEO Vladimir Streshinsky
- Board of Directors Member at Metalloinvest: Valery Kazikaev
- Nazim Efendiev, General Director of the Corporation
- Executive Director of Metalloinvest Trading AG, Vakhtang Kocharov
- Andrey Skoch’s father, Vladimir, and daughter, Varvara, are co-owners of USM Holding.
- With its special permit, Kommersant was freed from sanctions.
The US Treasury also blacklisted former transport minister Yevgeny Dietrich and deputy prime minister Marat Khusnullin. Families of oligarchs were added to the British lists, including the aforementioned Vladimir and Varvara Skoch, the children and wife of Vladimir Yevtushenkov, and the daughter and nephew of Suleiman Kerimov. Marina Petrenko, the mistress of Russian senator Boris Kerimov, is still evading sanctions despite owning an offshore estate worth 8 billion rubles.
