A quiet acquisition spree of UK real estate by Russian elite – Yakunin, Berezkina, Adoniev, and Mori. The details are murky, but the prices are high.
UK Real Estate Acquired
The UK’s register of beneficial owners of real estate does not include everyone who should be listed. You should not worry about the privacy of people whose real estate is held in trust; their identities are known only to the government. Nonetheless, some hidden assets were exposed.
Viktor Yakunin, Vladimir’s youngest son, uses the British Virgin Islands-based offshore company Dalia Finance SA to acquire an apartment and a parking space in the Kensington neighbourhood of London.
Through the offshore Kerrera Limited (Jersey), Irina Berezkin, the wife of ESN group owner Grigory Berezkin, owns a vast parcel of land in London valued at 96.8 million pounds. Berezkina has dual citizenship in Russia and Croatia, as revealed by the public registry.
Sergey Adoniev, the founder of Yota, is an Israeli citizen who, through the offshore company Barker Equity Limited (British Virgin Islands), owns a London apartment, a cottage, and a house.
Amirkhan Mori, the brother of State Duma deputy Zelimkhan Mutsoev, owns two apartments in the heart of London through two offshore firms, Saracen Realm Limited and Interra Limited (British Virgin Islands).
